Standing out from its more aggressively rigid, heavily "warted" relatives, angustifolia is celebrated for its soft, fluid geometry and delicate, fine-textured rosettes.

Care and Growing

Like most Haworthias, the Narrow-Leafed Haworthia is a resilient survivor that is highly adapted to lower-light environments, making it an exceptional candidate for indoor growing.

  • Light Needs: Prefers Bright, Indirect Light to Gentle Morning Sun. It is highly sensitive to intense, direct afternoon sunlight, which can easily scorch the thin foliage or cause the plant to turn an overly stressed, stagnant brown.

  • Water Needs: Low. Utilize the classic "soak and dry" method. Water the substrate thoroughly, then allow it to dry out completely before the next watering. Reduce watering to a bare minimum during the winter rest period.

  • Soil Needs: Requires Porous, Highly Gritty Soil. A specialized mix consisting of 60-70% inorganic materials—such as pumice, perlite, or fine lava rock—combined with standard succulent soil ensures excellent root aeration and prevents moisture retention.

  • Temperature & Hardiness: Best kept in temperatures above 50°F (10°C). It is not frost-tolerant and should be kept indoors during the colder months, though it thrives outdoors in a sheltered, shaded location during mild spring and summer weather.
