Varigated Tiger Jaws

$10.00

A Roaringly Beautiful Rarity

Unleash the wild side of your succulent collection with the Variegated 'Tiger Jaws' (Faucaria tigrina variegata). This rare cultivar takes the fierce, unique appearance of the classic Tiger Jaws and adds a layer of stunning coloration, making it a highly coveted collector's piece.

  • Striking Variegation: The thick, fleshy, triangular leaves are painted with an incredible mix of mint green, soft blue-green, and creamy white to pale yellow stripes and patches. The variegation is random and unique on every 'jaw.'

  • Harmless Teeth: The common name comes from the small, soft, filamentous "teeth" that line the margins of the leaves, giving the plant a fascinating, ferocious look that is completely harmless to the touch.

  • Golden Blooms: Like its non-variegated parent, this plant produces large, silky, golden-yellow, daisy-like flowers from the center of the rosette, typically blooming in the autumn. The flowers open during the day and close at dusk.

All potted plants are local pickup only. Shipped plants will be bare root (no pot or soil).

Quick Care Guide

The Variegated 'Tiger Jaws' is a resilient, low-growing succulent that forms attractive, compact clumps and is surprisingly easy to care for, provided you stick to a few simple rules.

  • β˜€οΈ Light: Requires Bright, Direct Sunlight (6+ hours) to maintain its compact shape and intense variegation. Low light will cause the leaves to stretch and turn a duller green.

  • πŸ’§ Water: Extremely Low. Use the "soak and dry" method. Water thoroughly only when the soil has dried out completely. Overwatering is the biggest risk and can cause leaves to crack or the plant to rot. Reduce watering significantly in winter.

  • ⛰️ Soil: Must have a very well-draining, gritty succulent or cactus mix. The soil should not retain moisture.

Bring this exotic, eye-catching succulent into your home or rock garden for a piece of the South African desert with a gorgeous, colorful twist!
